Mango, Orange, and Turmeric Creamsicle

Mango, Orange and Turmeric Creamsicle

This mango, orange, and turmeric creamsicle is the perfect treat to fight the heat. Naturally sweet, vegan, and filled with flavor.

One of my favorite people in the world LOVES mangoes. She is not a big eater but will make exceptions for chips, ice cream, and mangoes. Unfortunately, she got laid off last week and I was scratching my head trying to find something to cheer her up and then I thought of this mango, orange, and turmeric creamsicle.

This popsicle is actually inspired by a smoothie that I like to do regularly. Not only does it take literally 5 minutes to do, it also has only 4 ingredients! The hardest part is letting them freeze up without trying to poke them to see if they are ready. ;P

Tartar Sauce

tartar sauce

This vegan tartar sauce packs up a big flavor punch and is miles away from the traditional mayo and relish combo. It is delicious paired with the fishless Gardein fillets.

My mom is sort of a fish and chip fiend.

It might be because she lived in England for 6 years, or simply because she is a weirdo, but if it is on the menu, there is a big chance that it will end up in front of her. Me ?? Not so much. The only interest I had in her plate was stealing her fries and her tartar sauce. But too often, the sauce was flavorless and not much different than mayonnaise.

Well, this changed during my first cooking internship. I was working in a big hotel that had a bistro-style restaurant and a bar that both served fish and chip. The first recipe I learned at this internship was actually this tartar sauce, and even though this was 6 years ago, it is still fresh in my memory and it still tastes as great that I remember. And the best is that with a simple tweak, you can make this a vegan tartar sauce!

(Vegan) One-Skillet Chicken Pot Pie

This vegan one-skillet chicken pot pie is the perfect hangover food and is very easy to do. It’s so easy I made it drunk while filming a video! This recipe has adjusted amounts so that you don’t end up like me with too much filling for your tiny cast-iron skillet. Also, I really recommend a cast iron skillet for this recipe because it goes in the oven and is perfect for searing....

Healthy Low-fat Banana Bread

Healthy Low-fat Banana Bread

Healthy Low-fat banana bread – A vegan, starch solution compliant treat that is free of refined sugars and full of goodness!

The trick to making a low-fat banana bread that is flavourful and moist is using the right kind of bananas. In this case, we need over-ripe bananas, but not just spotty bananas. I mean bananas darker than my soul.

But no one likes waiting for bananas to ripen when they want to eat banana bread RIGHT NOW !!   What I do is I freeze peeled over-ripe bananas whenever I end up forgetting I had them and left them too long on the counter (which let’s be honest, is every time I buy bananas). So I always have over-ripe bananas on hand. They are also useful in replacing eggs in certain recipes.
